Strange Interludes -- An award-winning audio drama production company for which I serve as the main director and scriptwriter.
WORTHY CAUSES
(Not that I'm suggesting these charities are more deserving than any others, but if you're looking to donate money and you haven't picked a recipient, then may I humbly suggest...)
National Multiple Sclerosis Society -- They say you never think about a disease until someone you know comes down with it. There are now four people in my life who developed MS: a friend's mother, another friend's sister, a former classmate, and a member of my immediate family. While current drugs can slow the progress of the disease, there is still no cure.
PROTECT -- The only political action group dedicated to preserving the safety and well-being of children. PROTECT has achieved quite a lot in the time it's existed, including the abolishment of odious "incest loopholes" in several states' child-abuse laws.
Cancer Research Institute -- We can beat it. 'Nuff said.
Comic Book Legal Defense Fund -- While other free-speech groups sit around and talk about fighting, the CBLDF actually DOES something, regularly protecting the rights of those in the comic industry. And while the world of comic books is only a small piece of the free-speech puzzle, the CBLDF's doggedness and success rate makes them worthy of your consideration.
Meals On Wheels -- Providing seniors and the home-bound with meals and companionship for over fifty years. This site has a local-program finder to help you target your donation (or volunteering time).
